We loved her once but, over the millennia and with the coming of Vogue magazine, the bikini and supermarkets, we think we've forgotten her. But she's there - an archetype in our subconscious. These Stone Age figures, called 'Venuses', made 20 to 30,000 years ago, are reckoned to have been fertility symbols. This one was photographed in the Evoluon, Philips' Science Museum in Eindhoven, Holland (it's now a conference centre).
